Chillicothe
Prison Concert Pictures Now Online
Johnny
did a concert when in prison after the 'shooting incident'.
Accompanying Johnny in the concert, was long time friend Merle
Haggard. This concert was lost for many years until I was
exceptionally lucky to come across a copy of the unedited
video.
In
the interest of keeping Johnnys memory alive, I have placed
several 'stills' from the video on pages within this site.
I hope you enjoy them.

Just
remember if you see these pics elsewhere
they've
been stolen from this site!
Hello
and Welcome to my
Johnny PayCheck tribute Site.
News
on the Tribute CD Click here.
Although
Johnny PayCheck is no longer with us, Johnnys' music and influence
has in no way dimished since his death. His music and inspiration
is still as large and powerful as it was in his heyday.
Here's
to you John. We're thinking of you.
And...
HEY, PLAY SOME PAYCHECK..
The
Johnny PayCheck tribute CD has a release date and label. Click

Help Wanted.
I
am looking for as much information, pictures, notes, stories
of Johnny PayCheck as I can lay my hands on. It's not for
me (although I will enjoy reading it all), but primarily it
is to help keep the memory of Johnny alive.
Your
contribution will be put up on this web site. You will be
given full credit for your contribution.
I'm
putting all this together from my own knowledge and what I
can find out and I know there are lots of you out there who
know much more than I about Johnny and his music.
If
you think you can help me, please click
here to contact me.
Thanks.
--------------------
Johnny
PayCheck is well known for his hell raising lifestyle and
music. His career spanned five decades and the music he produced
during this time covered styles ranging from rockabilly to
classic country to honky tonk.
Johnny
PayCheck was equally adept at writing and performing slow
affectionate touching ballads as well as bawdy bar room honky
tonk rounder anthems.
Take
This Job and Shove It
Most
people know of Johnny PayCheck from his version of David Allan
Coe's, 'Take this Job and Shove It'. 'Shove It' is one of
country musics most well known songs of all time.
But
Johnny PayCheck has put out so much other music that has somehow
been overlooked by media, radio and country music lovers.
Johnny
PayCheck left us February 2003 and this web site is dedicated
to Johnny and his music.
This
site is dedicated to Johnny PayCheck and the great music
and memories he has left us with.
Johhny
PayCheck & Merle Haggard. The Chillicothe Prison Video
I
have been very fortunate to have obtained the unedited copy
of the legendary Chillicothe prison video Johnny did with
Merle Haggard.
Johnny
did time in Chillicothe for a well known and often mis-quoted
and sensationalized bar room shooting.
Johnny
was sentenced to 10 years but got out after about 2 years
as in this time he had straightened himself out and had become
a model inmate.
Anyway,
I have a copy of this famous prison video and plan on putting
some stills up on this site of the show in the very near future.

So
Why This Site?
Just
after Johnnys untimely passing in February 2003 I spent time
drifting the baron, personless plains of the Internet searching
for information on the life and career of Johnny PayCheck.
Johnny
PayChecks name has been listed on about 70 albums and countless
singles during his musical career, a career that spanned five
decades.
With
this in mind I was dismayed when presented with the paucity
of information available on this giant of the country music
genre.
So
with that in mind I decided to put this lil ol' web site together
in an attempt to keep the memory of Johhny PayCheck alive.
This has become even more important as Johnny was completely
overlooked during the presentation of the 2003 CMA awards.
This
site is dedicated to Johnny PayCheck and the great music
and memories he has left us with.
If
you think you may have anything you'd like to contribute,
pls let me know. Click here.

While
on YouTube the other day I found this heartfelt tribute to
Johnny by Mike Diamond. This song and clip is well worth taking
a look at. Here a link to the clip on YouTube -
